
SU-DER CHEN
Dr. Su-Der Chen, a professor, leads the Laboratory of Biochemical Engineering in the Department of Food Science at National Ilan University, Taiwan. Prof. Chen’s teaching focus on food processing, food engineering, food unit operation, fermentation and enzyme. Her recent research focus on rice processing, food drying, fungi fermentation and functional properties, application of microwave and radio frequency heating.
Dr. Su-Der Chen obtained her dual major Ph. D. degree from Department of Food Science and Agricultural Engineering in Michigan State University (1993). She was visiting scholar at Dr. Juming Tangs’ Lab in Department of Biological Systems Engineering, Washington State University, USA (2008~2009). Prof. Chen was the president of Chinese Bioresource Application Association during 2018~2020. She was chairman of department of Food Science during 2016~2019 and chairman of Master Program college of Bioresource during 2009~2010 in National Ilan University. Prof. Chen received distinguished teaching award and excellent mentor award.
